Malone Rallies To Down SR In Division II Hockey
Carson Roy stopped all 21 shots he faced in the second and third periods as Malone rallied from deficits of 2-0 and 3-1 to secure a 4-3 NAC Division II Hockey victory over Salmon River on Monday night. Trent King scored a pair of third period goals carrying the Huskies to a 4-6-2 division record and a 5-10-4 overall mark.
King finished with two goals and one assist, Adam Fakir tallied one goal with one assist and Nolan Wood passed out two assists. Mitchell Miletech also scored for Malone and Cooper Lockwood and Eli Race also assisted on goals.
Tom Cook Jr., Alex Oakes and Jared Showen scored for Salmon River (6-6-0, 9-10) and Connor Lewis, Connor Dishaw and Eli Moulton passed out assists in support of Ryan Oakes' 21 saves. Jeremiah Scharf made 10 saves for Malone in the first period.
"We had a great 1st period. The Huskies responded with a great second period after they changed goalies. We knew if it came down to 15 minutes, it was anyones game. They got the break and we didn't. We'll come back tomorrow and get ready for Wednesday's game," said Salmon River Coach Tim Cook.
