Mare's Wares Arts Fest 2021 Cancelled By Pandemic
The COVID-19 Pandemic has cancelled another major event, the 2021` Mare's Wares Arts Fest.
The announcement was made by Mary Ann Evans on facebook.
Due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, and the unknown end of ‘social distancing’, we must in good conscience officially cancel the 13th annual 2020 Mare’s Wares Arts Fest.
Without a crystal ball, it is hard for those of us who plan a significant summer event to know what gathering requirements will be in place in upcoming months, but something that has to be taken into consideration are large upfront costs that must be paid in advance. Making hefty payments for an affair that faces the possibility of not being allowed is a risk.
We suspect there isn’t anyone who believes that the Arts Fest was actually going to happen. However, we watched silently in the wings, with a bit of optimism, through March, April, and May, hoping something might change to allow us to return to following through on all those things that are required to make the show happen. Alas, it was not to happen. Additionally, social distancing and mask wearing seem to be hit or miss .. and our health and lives are truly at stake.
We thank you all for your past support of the Arts Fest, and truly hope the country - and the world - get back on track in time for next July 1st. We will have had a lot of pent up creative energy, and will surely be ready for bigger and better in 2021!
