McCormick Sisters Continue Leadership For Roberts Wesleyan

Heuvelton's sister combination of Paige and Madison McCormick continued to provide early season leadership as the Roberts Wesleyan Women's Basketball team recorded a 70-52 win over Clarion University and dropped a 76-48 decision to Gannon University in its last two games.

The Redhawks dominated the second quarter outscoring Clarion 24-10 to take the lead going into the half. Roberts continued to outscore the Golden Eagles in the second half to march on to its second win of the season.

Senior transfer Paige McCormick paced the Redhawks with a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds. The Heuvelton, N.Y. native also had four steals and five assists on the night. Junior guard Taryn Wilson scored 14 points and Junior center Dimitra Gkizani rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points and 9 rebounds. Madison McCormick scored seven points on 2-4 shooting with seven assists.

In the loss to Gannon Paige and Madison McCormick each scored 12 points. Paige grabbed six rebounds and passed out three assists and Madison hit four of six three-point attempts and added two assists, blocks and steals.

Roberts Wesleyan will return to action on Feb. 3 against D'Youville.
