McGuigge Joins Lady Knights For Tonight's Game

Clarkson University's Women's Hockey Coach Matt Desrosiers is happy to announce the addition of Kirstyn McGuigge to the roster. She will be eligible for action starting tonight when the Golden Knights host Long Island University. If the name sounds familiar that is because both of Kirstyn's older sisters play college hockey in the ECAC. Her oldest sister is the goaltender for the Princeton Tigers and next oldest sister, and now teammate, Brooke is the leading scorer for the Golden Knights so far this season.

Kirstyn was slated to enroll in the fall of 2021, but since she had already graduated from Bowmanville High School in Ontario, she was eligible to start this semester.

Coach Matt Desrosiers is excited to add Kirstyn to the team, "We are excited to add Kirstyn to Clarkson for the second half of the season as we expect her to make an impact on our program immediately. She is a good skating forward that sees the ice very well and can make her teammates around her better through her work ethic. The experience she has gained from being Captain of her team in Whitby (PWHL) will help make the transition to college hockey seamless."

Kirstyn will wear # 17 and she is a left shot forward.

After a break for the holiday's the 9th ranked Clarkson Women's Hockey team is back on the ice for a two game home series with Long Island University.

The Golden Knights played four games before they broke for the Holidays, all non conference, against league rival Colgate. The 4 games couldn't have been much closer, (L 1-3, W 3-2, L 2-3, & T 2-2) and fittingly ended with a thrilling 2 -2 tie on Dec. 5th at Cheel.

Milestone Alert: Clarkson's Captain and the reigning Patty Kazmaier Award winner, Elizabeth Giguere, is tied for the all time points record at Clarkson. Her next point will move her past another Clarkson great, Loren Gabel, for sole possession of this record.

Today's game can be streamed on ESPN+ or STRETCH (International Feed) and can be heard on B99.3 with Mike Vaillancourt.
