McMaster, Roat Named Roos Of Week
CANTON – Senior Melissa McMaster and senior Jenna Roat, both members of the SUNY Canton women’s volleyball team, have been named this week’s Roos of the Week.
McMaster averaged 2.50 kills and 0.57 blocks per set hitting at an impressive .293 clip (35-13-75) in four matches last week for the Roos. She opened the week coming up just one kill shy of her career-high with 16 (16-2-25) hitting an astonishing .560 in a four-set loss to SUNY Potsdam. She also added three solo blocks and three blocks assists. The senior also tallied nine kills in a four-set loss to Hartwick.
Roat averaged 4.64 digs per set over four matches last week for the Roos. The senior set the Roos all-time NCAA D-III era program record for career digs on Friday with 11 digs v. Morrisville State. Following the match, she had 1,794 (now 1,838) breaking the previous mark of 2016 graduate Robyn Carroll (1,793). Roat had double digit digs in all four matches last week tying a season-high with 29 in a 3-1 loss to Hartwick.
