Moose, Ogd Bowl keep Share of Men's Softball Lead

A three-way knot became a two-way tie in Thursday's See-Way Men's Slo-Pitch Softball action. The league will break for Seaway Festival Week and resume on July 30 for the final week of the regular season.

The Moose Lodge and Ogdensburg Bowl finished the night at 9-4. The Moose dropped The Bowl II out first place with an 8-2 win and Ogdensburg Bowl dropped Mack's Tavern 25-6. The other game of the night saw Howie's outscore Sipps 22-15.

Sipps 22 - Howie's 15: Cheese lined a triple and three singles to lead the winners who salted the game away with with six runs in the top of the seventh inning. John Reed rapped a homerun, double and a single, John Missert drilled a double and two singles and Tanner Lawrence and Josh Barkley each connected for a double and a single.

Sipps countered with some strong efforts from Joel King (3 singles, 2 doubles), Eric Barr (3 singles, double), Joe Giglop (2 triples, double), Matt Denner (double, 2 singles) and Ryan Bouchey (double, single).

Moose 8 - Bowl II 2:The Moose blanked the Bowl II over the last four inning and received its hitting leadership from Bill Durham with a double and two singles, Justin Martel with a homerun and a single and Pete LaBell with a double and a single. Norm Martel, Zach Amo and Joe Brenno all singled twice.

Seth Douglass rapped a double and two singles for the Bowl II and Peyton Lalone doubled and singled.

League Standings: Moose Lodge 9-4, Ogdensburg Bowl 9-4 Bowl II 8-5, Howie's 5-9. Sipps 4-9, Mack's Tavern 4-9,

July 30: JP - Mack's at Howie's, 7:15 p.m. - Moose at Ogd Bowl. BP - 6 p.m. - Sipps at Bowl II.
