Morrill Receives Biddy Basketball Frank Brown Award
Updated: Feb 2, 2020
The Ogdensburg Biddy Basketball program completed another successful season for boys and girls on Saturday morning at the OFA gyms. Biddy Basketball is sponsored by the Ogdensburg Recreation Department and offered free of charge through funds raised OFA's "The Freddie" Basketball Celebration day.
Each year on the final day of the season the Frank Bown Award is presented to the Outstanding Sixth Grader in Boys Biddy Basketball. Frank Brown coached Biddy Basketball in Ogdensburg for many years and now lives in retirement in North Carolina. He has enjoyed a lifetime love affair with the game and as a player was known for his prowess with the bounce pass and the two handed set shot.
Blake Morrill received this year's award from a group of five finalists which also included Cam Javier, Ian Rose, Noah White and Jack Pike.
Hall of Fame Coach Bill Merna and current OFA Varsity Basketball Coach Mark Henry direct the program and OFA Varsity Boys and Girls Basketball players coach the youngsters.
