N-N Boys, Girls Cap Undefeated Run In NAC

Norwood-Norfolk completed perfect run in stereo through the Northern Conference by sweeping the Boys and Girls team championships at the NAC Interdivisionals in Malone on Tuesday.

In the Boys Race the Flyers led the way at 43 points followed by Malone 72, Canton 75, Potsdam 88, Brushton-Moira 149, Salmon River 1`72, Gouverneur 176 and Massena 181.

In the Girls Race the Lady Flyers tallied 44 points followed by Potsdam at 58, Gouverneur 60, Canton 77 and Malone 92.

OFA fielded incomplete teams in both races.

The N-N Boys and Girls also went undefeated in the NAC Dual Meet season.

Next week the Section 10 Championships will be held where races will be held by class size and positions in the state championship will be decided.


N-N's Maddie Dinneen 19:05.00 led the Girls Race followed by Isabella Shatraw 20:09 of Potsdam, Canton's Arianna Whittaker 20:43 and the N-N duo of Sharon Colbert 21:05 and Rachel Hewey 21:09 in the top five. The top 14 finishers comprised the First and Second Team All-NAC selections.

Rikki 21:31 and Randi Griffith 21:36 of Gouverneur rounded out the Girls All-NAC First Team.

Earning Second Team honors were: Jocelyn Shatraw 21:45 and Juliana Shatraw 22:02 of Potsdam, Natalia Pearson 22:16 and Grace McDonough 22:21 of Canton, Bethany Poirier 22:23 of Malone and Meredith Bush 22:23 and Abby Bowman 22:36 of Gouverneur.


Dylan Perry of Malone led Boys field in 17:35 followed by Canton's Robert Reed 18:01 and Nick Lyndaker 18:05, Gouverneur's Cole Siebels 18:12 and Potsdam's Skye Crocker 18:22 in the top five. Clayton Reed 18:23 and Laeton Colbert 18:25 took sixth and seventh rounding out the All-NAC First Team.

Second Team selection was earned by Sylvain Foisy of Potsdam 18:34, Michael Richards 18:53, Thomas Hopsicker 18:54, Owen Haas 18:57 and Levi Sochia 19:02 of N-N, Xavier Collins of Salmon River 19:06 and Nicholas of Oddey 19:16 of Malone.


The OFA Boys entered four runners with Cody Fifield leading the way in 49th place at 22:03 followed by Mitchel McCarthy 51st in 22:27, James Martin 53rd in 22:22 and Brogan LaRose 68th in 22:43.

In the Girls Race Emma Murray ran 49th in 30:08 and Brianna McRoberts 50th in 30:10.
