N-N's Dinneen Runs To Second In Pre-State Meet

PLATTSBURGH - Norwood-Norfolk's Maddie Dinneen recorded the best individual finish for Section 10 at the Section 7 Pre-State Meet Invitational at SUNY Plattsburgh on Saturday. Dinneen (18:59.1) placed second in the Varsity Girls 3 Race which was headed by Delaney Brewer of Vernon-Verona-Sherrill in 18:57.

The Lady Flyers took fourth in race with 129 points in race which was headed by Arlington with 26 points. Rachel Hewey took 15th for the Flyers.

Canton took fifth with 164 points led by Arianna Whitaker in 12th in 20:57.9 and Claire Royce in 14th 21:46.6. Madrid-Waddington students Maria Allen (60 26:44.9) and Emily Pandel (26:53.30) were the Lady Bears fifth and sixth place runners.

Potsdam took sixth with 166 points led by the trio of Issabella (8th 20:46, Jocelyn (17th 21:22.4) and Julianna Shattraw (25th 22:21.1).

Malone placed ninth led by Bethany Poirier (34th 23:11.6).

OFA entered four runners in the Varsity Girls 2 Race which was led by Brook Raider of Tully in 17:38.3. Lexi Beaulieu took 72nd in 23.38, Emma Murray took 99th in 26.04, Brianna McRoberts placed 114th in 30.17 and McKenzie Spicer took 118th in 35:07.

"The times were very fast and there big races," said OFA Coach Chris McRoberts.

In the Boys Varsity races Dylan Perry of Malone led Section 10 with a 10th place finish in the Varsity 2 race where Arlington took the team title with 41 points and Gitch Hayes of Troy LaSalle led the field in 16:11.6. Norwood-Norfolk placed third at 140 led by Clayton Reed (18:08.2) and Owen Haas (20:18.16) who ran 17th and 20th.

Canton took seventh at 184 led by Nick Lyndaker who took 14th in 17:58.6. Malone took 10th at 191 and Potsdam placed 14th at 241. Syl Foisy led the Sandstoners placing 18th in 18:09.3.

OFA entered four runners in Varsity Boys race with Salmon River scored 482 points to place 17th led by Xavier Collins ran 79th.

Mitchell McCarthy led OFA in 116th place in 21:06 followed by teammates Cody Fifield (136 23:45, Conner McRoberts (140 24.27) and Brogan LaRose (142 26:39).
