The Northern New York Bassmasters Club completed its 2019 Tournament Trail with a tournament filled with close finishes on Black Lake.
"We caught a lot of finish but the big fish were really hard to get in the boat," said Brad Paradis
at the weigh-ins where the top four teams were separated by less than a pound.
We had one big one we worked for for over an hour. He would hit the bait but he just wouldn't take it."
Jordan Davis and Jesse Gilbert took first place with 17.78 pounds followed by Matt Grant and John Koreman at 17.61, Mike Bell and Gabe Sazfranski at 17.01 and Tyler Capella and Langlois at 16.96.
The Capella-Langlois captured Lunker honors with a 5.52 largemouth and the team of Chris and Angela Roach took second with a 5.43 largemouth.
The club will hold its two-day Club Championship Tournament on Saturday and Sunday. The first day of the tournament will be staged on the St. Lawrence River out of Waddington and the second day will be staged on Black Lake out of the New York State DEC Boat Launch.
The NNYBC Team of the Year race finished in a dead heat as Tyler Capella and Jesse Spellicy and Chad Sharpe and Gary McIntyre both finished with 984 points. Jordan Davis and Oliver Planty and Harriman rounded out the top five at 955.
