NNY Junior Bassmasters Enjoy Fine Season Finale

The Northern New York Junior Bassmasters season ended on Sunday with a tournament out of Ogdensburg on the St. Lawrence River.

A rain storm couldn't dampen the experience of the finale which matched the first tournament of the 2020 season as the anglers, boaters and volunteers enjoyed some great catches and sportsmanship while strictly following the state guidelines to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.

The club, directed by Arlene Kiah and Jim Moore, will do the same thing on Sunday holding a drive-in banquet at Hosmer's Marina from 6-7:30 p.m. where the season awards will be presented.

"I want to thank all the adult boaters, the club's sponsors and the community for their support. In Sunday's Tournament Liam Langstaff swept Junior Club and overall honors with a 15.54-pound bag with a 4.70 smallmouth for Lunker. Chase Jacobs led the High School Club weighing in 10.58 pound of bass and Matt Kinney earned the Lunker Award with a 3.56 bass.

Scarlertt Ritchie and Griffin Walker were recognized with Sportsmanship Awards.
