No Nonsense Hoop Camp Set With Guidelines
After many, many hurdles cleared and documents examined, it’s official - two weeks of No-Nonsense Basketball Camp will be held this summer at Ogdensburg Free Academy. Unfortunately for campers and parents/guardians, little time has been left for turnaround in regards to registering this year, for reasons obviously out of anyone’s control.
Much time and effort has been placed into meeting all necessary provisions laid out by New York State, including social distancing, proper sanitation, etc. There will be no sharing of basketballs, participants will remain with the same group of 10 or less for the duration of camp. Feel free to contact Mark Henry (firstname.lastname@example.org or 313-323-3137) or Scott Sargent (email@example.com or 315-528-1098) with any questions.
"A HUGE thank you to Superintendent Kevin Kendall and the Ogdensburg City School District for working so hard to provide this opportunity to our kids that so desperately need and deserve it," said Camp Co-Director Scott Sargent.
Mailings were sent out this morning (June 22) to past campers, but for those that were inadvertently missed or for those that have never attended.
Camp will be held July 6-10 and July 13-17 for boys and girls entering grades 5-12 in September.
The cost is $70 per week or $125 for both weeks. Campers can register via mail or contact one of the coaches to arrange emailing of forms and/or drop off of registration/payment.
Each week will involve two separate sessions - campers will either be assigned the 8-9:45 a.m. time slot OR the 10-11:45 a.m. time slot. Campers may register for both weeks, one time slot per week.
All participants will be notified of their assigned time slot for week one via text or phone call by July 3. Given the present situation, it is impossible to grant time requests - thank you for understanding the situation we have been placed in.
All paperwork must be received by July 1st (mail, drop off) to attend camp.
Time slots are limited, and unfortunately, we may need to turn campers away based on response. Again, our apologies.
There are ABSOLUTELY NO same day/late registrations accepted this year.
All campers must bring THEIR OWN BASKETBALL AND WATER, each with their name written on it. The camp will focus on individual skill development - there will be no sharing of basketballs and campers will remain with the same group of 10 or less for the entire week. No parents and/or spectators will be allowed in the facilities during camp, for obvious reasons.
Daily health screening documents are included in the registration documents.
"We are really excited to be able to provide this opportunity for our students - please reach out via text or email with questions. Take care." Coach Henry and Coach Sargent
