OBGC Continues Efforts To Provide For Youngsters

The Ogdensburg Boys and Girls Club has been closed for members at their site at 610 Patterson St. in Ogdensburg since March 14th. Since that time, the organization and staff have turned their focus on doing “Whatever it Takes” to help the lives of area youth and families. The club has been working with the Ogdensburg City School District which provide double lunches and breakfast twice a week by delivering to many families who are not able to pick-up.

In addition, the club has provided thousands of meals, 494 bags of groceries, 200 oral care packages and 93 hygiene bags. Currently, the club has delivered 7657 meals to local youth.

“We are so fortunate to have the support of Superintendent Kevin Kendall, Brian Mitchell and the Ogdensburg City School District, local restaurants many that have donated one or more meals as well as many supporters who have helped purchase meals, made monetary donations or donated gift cards for groceries. This community really cares about helping others and it has never been more evident in this period of uncertainty. Making sure kids are well fed and have the essentials they need is crucial to their development and mental health. We have been fortunate to receive some grants as well and our many supporters have helped to make a positive impact on young lives. As always, we are so thankful for the continued support.” Stated Thomas Luckie, Ogdensburg Boys and Girls Club, Executive Director.

Anyone wishing to help can do so by purchasing a gift card to a local restaurant or grocery store, make a monetary donation toward the clubs Covoid expenses, or set-up a meal at a local restaurant. The Ogdensburg Boys and Girls Club is located at 610 Patterson St. and the mailing address is P.O. Box 555, Ogdensburg, NY 13669.
