OFA Band Excels at Jefferson County Fair

WATERTOWN - Two first places as a team and a series of strong placings in a series of specialized competitions highlighted the a performance of the OFA Marching Band at the Jefferson County Fair on Tuesday in Watertown.

The March Blue Devils placed first at the afternoon parade with a score of 83 and placed first in the Mascot Competition and logged another first place at the evening Firemen's Parade with a score of 88.

The Devils' Horn Line also placed first first and OFA also took a second place in the Majorette Competition and gained thirds in the AFL, Twirling Color Guard and Percussion Line. "It was a great day" said Marching Band Director Jon Cole.

"We will march in the French Festival Cape Vincent on Saturday at 1 pm.  It's such a nice parade."

Members of the band also helped out the Hoswegatchie July Duathlon at Hosmer's Marina on Wednesday night. Proceeds from each duathlon summer series are donated to the Marching Band.
