OFA, Canton Fuel Golf Title Drives; M-W Improves

OFA retained its share of the Division I Golf Lead, Canton stayed perfect in Dvision II and Madrid-Waddington continued to drop its scores in Friday's NAC Golf action.

OFA (5-1) downed Malone 220-253, Canton bested Colton-Pierrepont 222-314 and Madrid-Waddington dropped a 228-274 decision to Gouverneur (5-2).

OFA RECORDS FIFTH STRAIGHT WIN

OFA posted its second win over Malone and fifth straight win after a season-opening loss to Massena.

Ethan Bouchard shot a medalist round of 40, Tim McLellan authored a season best round of 41 and Jack Mills posted a 43 with a birdie three on the seventh hole at the St. Lawrence State Park to OFA. The Devils' season-best team round also included a 44 by Nick McRoberts and 52s by Landon McDonald and Nate Woods.

Sam Eells led Malone with a 47 followed by Jack Monette 50, Evan Miller 51, Jerry Scharf 52 and Owen Eells 53.

"It was a nice win at home versus Malone led by Ethan Bouchard with a medalist 40 and a 41 by Tim McLellan," said OFA Coach Matt Morley.

CANTON STAYS UNBEATEN IN DIVISION II

Ryan Jones birdied the fourth and sixth holes on his way to a 36 on the front nine of the St. Lawrence University Golf and Country Club leading a fine team outings for Canton. Sam Sieminski followed at 42 and John'ONeil (44), Ethan Furnia (46) and Sam Moses rounded out the Golden Bears' scoring.

Billy LaPierre led C-P with a 46 and Aaron Collins and Ted Farns each finished at 63.

MADRID-WADDINGTON SHOWS IMPROVEMENT

Gouverneur stayed in the thick of the Division I race as Dylan Farr's medalist 42 led an impressive showing of depth at the Partridge Run Golf and Country Club. Raine Rumble followed at 45 and Avery Hayden, Hyatt Holmes and Nathan Shattuck all came in at 47.

Drew Harmer's 49, a 52 by Kyle Murray and a 53 by Adam Sabatinia led M-W. Jakob Mayette posted a 59 and Caleb Hayden finished at 61.

"We are starting to show improvement," said M-W Coach Aaron Jones.

Massena 216 - Potsdam 255: Massena's fine team effort featuredd Kevin Perry 40, Sean Murphy 40, Aidan McKenzie 43, Ben Thompson 44, Sean Scully 45, Jack Violi 49 and Meghan Firnstein 50. Potsdam was led by: Christos Theodore 46, Lucas Cruikshank 48, Austin Emlaw 48, Sam Reynolds 55 and Ezra Williams 58.

NORWOOD-NORFOLK 140, CLIFTON-FINE 162

N-N 140 - C-F 162: Jace Dutch shot a medalist round of 40 for N-N followed by Ryley Ashley 44 and Rhett Ashley 56.

Zach Palmer led C-F at 47 and Thomas Smith noted a 51.

TL 283 - Salmon River 313: Taran Dubey 44, Patrick Clark 54 and Colby Bourdeau 59 led Tupper Lake and Carter Johnson's 54 led Salmon River.
