OFA Girls Earn Quality Tie Vs Malone

OFA Girls Soccer Coach Julie Hynes came away from Friday's 0-0 tie with Malone feeling very good about her team's efforts against the Huskies.

"I thought it was a very good game for the girls. They played hard all the way. I hope they feel good about it. We didn't win but it was a very good effort," said Coach Hynes.

"Emily Jo Sovie had another great game in goal and Julia L'Orange moved into the defense and had a great game. Paige LaRock and Samara LaFlair also played extremely solid on defense and Jordyn Prosser really played well at halfback."

Sovie handled 19 saves in the OFA goal including a grab of a deflected shot just outside of the goal line in the closing minute of the second overtime. Malone keeper Emma Jacques made three saves. OFA plays at Gouverneur on Tuesday.

In other Central Division action Massena downed Potsdam 3-0 and Canton blanked St. Lawrence Central 3-0.,

OFA's Saige Estes handles the ball against Malone in Friday's game.
