OFA Girls Resume Quest For Second Seed

POTSDAM - Rebounding from a loss at Malone the OFA Girls Basketball team recorded a businesslike 49-20 win over Potsdam in a NAC Central Division makeup game on Wednesday. The Devils (8-4 NAC, 12-5) moved into a tie for second place in the division and dropped Potsdam to 0-12 NAC, 3-15).

"We did what we had to do tonight to get a win we needed in our hopes to gain that second Class B seed for the sectionals. We have a big game at Indian River on Friday and then we finish next week with Canton and Gouverneur," said OFA Coach Doug Loffler.

"Emily Farrand's shooting was a little off but our bigs picked up the slack and led the offense. Gabby Morley had a nice night and we played pretty good defense all the way around. Emily Farrand had a nice floor game with five assists and six rebounds to go with nine points."

Morley scored a game-high 13 points with a 3-pointer and six rebounds, Riley Hough produced 11 points and five rebounds, Hailey Reed contributed nine points and six rebounds and Celia Henry, Emma LeBeau and Abby Raven added four points, three points and one point.

Julia Basford and Shawna Cummings scored six and five points to lead Potsdam and Luca Pecora followed with four. Grace Mattimore and Katie Davis added three and two points.
