OFA Girls Strike Twice In OT For Second Win

BRASHER FALLS - Erin Perretta and Sadie O'Neil figured on two overtime goals for OFA which broke a 0-0 98-minute defensive deadlock with St. Lawrence Central 2-0 to record its second NAC Central Girls Soccer win of the season.

Perretta and Hailey Reed set up Sadie O'Neil for the first goal of the game with two minutes remaining in overtime and Perretta neatly directed a corner kick from O'Neill into the goal with just 30 seconds remaining as the Devils climbed to 2-5-3 in the division.

Emily Jo Sovie stopped seven shots to post the 100-minute shutout and SLC's Savannah Adams finished with four saves.

"Erin Perretta had another beautiful connection with Sadie O'Neill on the corner kick for the second goal and Hailey Reed, Saige Estes, Jordyn Prosser and Brinley Frederick really rocked the midfield," said OFA Coach Julie Hynes.

"Paige LaRock was moved to center midfield and it really stepped up our offense and Julia L'Orange led the defense from her sweeper position. Paige Pinkerton and Olivia McRoberts helped on defense and Emily Jo Sovie as usual had a strong game in goal. We are excited and so proud of the girls."

In other Central Division action Canton downed Massena 3-1 and Potsdam bested Salmon River 5-1.

OFA's Sadie O'Neil cuts between two SR players in a game played earlier this week. The Devils downed St. Lawrence Central in overtime on Wednesday.
