Potsdam Wins, Canton Falls At Corbett Tournament

Host Potsdam opened its season with a win while Canton suffered a first round loss at the Bill Corbett Memorial Hockey Tournament on Friday night.

Potsdam downed Adirondack 5-4 and Canton dropped a 4-1 decision to Hilton. The tournament concludes on Saturday.

Potsdam 5 Adirondack 4: Romano Sergi tallied the winning goal top support a 36-save effort by Cole Eakins. Danner Dorothy scored two goals with one assist and Tyler Bergen tallied one goal with one assist and Kale Wright added a single goal. Jim Sullivan passed out two assists.

Will Cormie scored three goals for Adirondack.

Hilton 4 - Canton 1: Luigi Borrelli delivered one goal and one assist to spark Hilton and Robert Reed tallied the Canton goal from Robert Reed and Davde Mahoney and Peter Coakley. Hayden Todd stopped 26 shots in the Canton goal and Ray Chinappi finished with six saves for Hilton.
