Salmon River Advances To Semis At OFA Thursday

FORT COVINGTON - Tim Cook Jr., Cobie Cree and Connor Lewis each delivered one goal and assist to spark the offense and Salmon River limited the Islanders to 15 shots on goal in a 4-1 Section 10 Division II Hockey quarter-final win on Tuesday night. The third seeded Shamrocks (11-10) advanced to semi-final action at second seeded OFA on Thursday in a 6:30 p.m. start.

SR and OFA split during the NAC season with each team winning at the other's rink.

Alex Oakes also scored for Salmon River while Ryan Oakes stopped 14 shots in goal.

Joe Papin scored the Islanders (5-15-1) and Clayton Hall handled 23 saves.

"The kids played a great game.  We look forward to going to OFA.  We have to match this effort on Thursday." The other semi-final game of the night saw St. Lawrence Central (6-11-1) outscore Malone (7-13-1) 6-3 and move on to a semi-final game on Thursday at top-seeded Norwood-Norfolk (11-8-1).
