Senior Volleyball Player Honored By SUNY Canton
CANTON – Brynna Harris and Marissa Ixtlahuac, both seniors on the women’s volleyball team, have been named this week’s Roos of the Week.
Harris was outstanding last week averaging 2.83 kills, 4.17 assists, 1.17 digs and 0.67 aces per set as the Roos earned a pair of crucial sweeps in NAC play. The senior opened play with six kills, 12 assists, four aces, three digs and a block in a victory v. Maine Presque Isle. She followed that up tallying 11 kills, 13 assists, four digs and two blocks in a sweep of SUNY Delhi to improve the team to 3-1 in league play and a tie for second place in the standings. Harris finished the weekend with a .363 hitting percentage (17-5-33).
Ixtlahuac had a tremendous weekend posting 2.83 kills and 0.50 blocks per set while hitting .382 (17-4-34). She tallied five kills and a block in a sweep v. Maine Presque Isle. The senior followed that up with a match-best 12 kills and .455 (12-2-22) hitting percentage in a sweep of SUNY Delhi, while also adding two blocks and an ace. The Roos improve to 3-1 in league play and a tie for second place in the standings entering the final weekend of conference play.
