SLU Ladies Earn 1-1 Tie vs Union

Anna Segedi scored a shorthanded goal five minutes into the third period to lead the St. Lawrence University women's hockey team to a 1-1 tie with Union in an ECAC Hockey contest at Roos House Ice Rink at SUNY Canton on Friday night. Skylar Podvey, playing as a forward for the first time in her career, earned an assist on Segedi's game-tying goal, picking up a loose puck at the point and firing it towards the net. Segedi redirected the puck in the slot and it went into the back of the net. After a short video review, the officials determined that Segedi did not play the puck with a high stick and allowed the goal. The Saints will wrap up fall semester play against Rensselaer on Saturday. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Roos House Ice Rink.
