SLU Men Run To Sixth At Elite Invitational
Evan Page, Patrick Mortensen and Dadley posted top-40 finishes to lead the St. Lawrence University men's cross country team to a sixth-place finish at the highly-competitive Connecticut College Invitational at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, Connecticut, on Saturday.
Page finished the eight-kilometer race in 25 minutes, 24.4 seconds, good for a pace of 5:06.6 per mile, to finish in 32nd place. Mortensen was less than a second behind Page in 34th, and Ogetii recovered from an early fall to finish in 39th place, four seconds behind Page.
Page, Mortensen, Dexter Benkard, Jackson Hamilton, George Gowdy and Nicholas Mitch all posted personal best 8K times on the course.
The Saints, ranked 35th nationally, finished ahead of three teams ranked higher than them in this week's USTFCCCA national poll. Top-ranked Williams won the meet with 47 points, while 12th-ranked MIT was second with 96. RPI, ranked 14th, was third, Colby was fourth, and 22nd-ranked Middlebury was fifth with 190 points. St. Lawrence scored 221 points to finish five points ahead of 27th-ranked Ithaca. Twenty-sixth-ranked Carleton finished eighth, and 18th-ranked Amherst was ninth.

WOMEN PLACED 12TH
Ashley Walker and Catherine Kluchinski posted top-40 finishes to lead the St. Lawrence University women's cross country team to a 12th-place finish at the highly-competitive Connecticut College Invitational at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, Connecticut, on Saturday.
Walker covered the six-kilometer course in 22 minutes, 31.7 seconds to finish 38th with a pace of 6:02.5 per mile. Kluchinski was just 1.2 seconds behind Walker in 40th.
Eleven St. Lawrence runners (Kluchinski, Sophie Brzezinski, Eliza O'Donnell, Kayla Beck, Haylei Coolican, Maura McAnaney, Katherine Sheehy, Sadie Lingelbach-Pierce, Jaden Phillips, Lindsay McGrathand Charlotte Reynolds) posted personal-best times in the race.
Seventh-ranked MIT won the 29-team meet with 75 points. Fifth-ranked Williams was second, and fourth-ranked Tufts was third. The top-nine teams were all ranked nationally, including seven teams in the top-20. St. Lawrence scored 346 points, just nine points behind Amherst and 13 points behind Brandeis.
Head Coach Kate Howard said "Every runner had a season best performance, and 11 of 13 runners had a lifetime best against a very competitive field today. Today's race gives us tremendous energy and momentum as we look forward to the Liberty League championships."
