SLU's Morgan Named Goaltender Of Week
S.t Lawrence University's Lucy Morgan was named the ECAC Hockey MAC Goaltending Goaltender of the Week for the second time this season on Monday. Morgan, who won the award on December 9 and was also the conference goaltender of the month for December, made 25 saves in a 1-0 win over seventh-ranked Clarkson on Saturday in the first game of the season in renovated Appleton Arena. She is just the second goaltender in program history to shut out Clarkson, joining Meaghan Guckian '08, who made 21 saves in a 5-0 win over the Golden Knights on October 21, 2006. Morgan also made 24 saves in a 2-1 loss to the Golden Knights at Cheel Arena on Friday night, finishing the week with a .961 save percentage and a 1.02 goals against average. On the season, Morgan ranks second in ECAC Hockey and fifth nationally with a .940 save percentage and third in the conference and seventh nationally with a 1.50 goals against average. The Saints will host 10th-ranked Harvard on Friday at 4 p.m., then face Dartmouth on Saturday at 3 p.m.
