SLU, UMass Share OBGC Elementary Floor Hockey

SLU and UMass both posted wins to stay on top in Ogdensburg Boys and Girls Club Elementary Floor Hockey League with 2-0 records.

Game 1: UMAS 7 – Maine 2

UMASS had a big night on offense scoring seven goals leading the way for them was Gavin Moran who scored four of the seven followed by Frank Barr who had the other three. Cole Matthews helped big in the win with a solid night in goal. For Maine they were only able to score twice on goals coming from Ashton Cardinal and Brody Barrett.

Game 2: SLU 13 – Clarkson 0

Clarkson had a big night on offense and defense scoring thirteen goals and not giving one up. Leading the way for Clarkson were Chase Rider and Blake Ashley who each scored four times followed by Nate Sholette who had two goals and an assist. To finish off the scoring Cormac Rider, Caleum Rider and Callen Ashley each added a goal while Callen Ashley also had an assist. On defense Brody Montroy had a great night in net with a shutout.

Offensive players of the week: Gavin Moran, Chase Rider

Defensive players of the week: Cole Matthews, Brody Montroy

Sportsmanship: Jamar Richey, Ava LaFlair

LEAGUE OPENERS

Game 1: SLU 5 – Maine 2

SLU opened up league play with a big win leading the way for them were Nate Sholette and Blake Ashley both scored twice while Chase Rider added on the final goal. They were also helped with strong play in net from Brody Montroy. For Maine they were only able to find the back of the net twice with goals coming from Lucien Hull and Jackson Thornhill and then some strong net play from Trey Thompson.

Game 2: UMASS 8 – Clarkson 1

UMASS had a big night on offense racking up eight goals in the opener. Gavin Moran led the way scoring five goals on the night while Frank Barr had two goals and Maddox Brenno finished things off with one while Chase Matthews was great in net. For Clarkson they were only able to find the back of the net once with a goal coming from Ryder Charlton and then a strong second half In net from Jared Pribble.
