xA split of Sunday morning NAC interdivisional doubleheader with Potsdam gave Lisbon some momentum for next week's Section 10 Tournament where the Golden Knights will play in the Class C ranks for the first time in several years.
The Knights will most likely be seeded fifth in the field also includes Norwood-Norfolk, Brushton-Moira and Madrid-Waddington in the NAC East Division and St. Lawrence Central of the Central Division.
Potsdam used a seven-run sixth inning to rally for a 10-9 victory in the first game and Lisbon rebounded to win the second game 12-5.
"The girls did a lot of good things and we only had the one letdown when they scored seven runs in the sixth inning of the first game. Emilee Reynolds has been pitching well for us and we have seen outstanding pitching through the regular season so I think we are in good shape going into our first game of the sectionals," said Lisbon Coach Dicky Marcellus.
"Today was a nice way to complete the regular season and the girls are excited to play someone we didn't play in the regular season."
Potsdam 10 - Lisbon 9: The Sandstoners ripped two singles, a double and a triple in their big inning. Pitcher MacHelle Morehouse got Lisbon to hit into three ground outs in the bottom of the inning to secure the victory. Karley Green singled and doubled and Taylor Benda tripled for Potsdam which also received two singles from Brooke Joyce. Italia Mikini added a single.
Ava Bouchey doubled twice and Gabby Taylor singled twice for Lisbon. Rachel LaRock and Anna Hoffman added singles.
Ava Bouchey led Lisbon with in the second game with three singles and a triple and Emilee Reynolds, who pitched both games, Erika Snyder Rachel LaRock all had two singles. Olivia McLear, Gabby Taylor, Eliza McLear and Emma Berg all chipped in singles.
MacHelle Morehouse, Shelly VanWagner and Italia Milani all singled twice.
