St. John Bosco Downs OBGC In Hoops

Chateaugay, St. John Bosco, Maranatha, and Citizen Advocates all picked up wins in Franklin CYO Basketball League action Saturday.

St John Bosco 48, Ogdensburg Boys-Girls Club 26.

The winners were led by Jeremy Lamitie with 13 points and eight rebounds followed by Seth Gonia with 12 points. Josh Bova had 8, Logan Hohol had five, Lynden Webb and Connor Chevrier each added four, and Austin Pierson scored two.

OBGC was led by Mark Tomford with a double-double 15 points and 11 rebounds. Others scoring were Tyler George with four, Scott O'Shier with three, and Michael Bice, and Nick Davidson each scored two.

Maranatha 62, Bangor 46.

Eddie Russell led the winners with a double-double 25 points and 14 rebounds followed by Brayden Powell with 22 points. Jeremy LeClair added seven, Ryan Avery had five, and Blake Cook rounded out the scoring with three.

Bangor was led by Caiden LaMay with 19 points followed by Dryden Spinner with a double-double 18 points and 11 rebounds. Connor Smith added 6 and Scott McCray Jr rounded out the scoring with three points.

Chateaugay 43, Smitty's Construction 41.

The winners were led by Carter Tower with 16 points followed by Brady Magoon with 14 points and nine rebounds. Hunter Trombley added six points, Isaiah Rivera four points and seven rebounds, Julia Bosley 2 and Freanna Trombley one. Bosley had a great floor game, as Chateaugay was forced to use three girls in  the last two minutes due to foul trouble with a couple of key players.  At 4-0 they remain the only undefeated team in the league this season.

Smitty's was led by Nate Martin with 11 points and six rebounds followed by Jarred Sweet and Brady Sweet with nine points each. Kelson Preve added six, Lucas Saumier had four and Logan McManon had two. Smitty's almost pulled an upset as they held a 28 to 18 lead with four minutes to go in the third quarter but couldn't hold on.

Citizen Advocates 70, FBMM 48.

The winners were led by Dawson Scharf with 21 points and eight rebounds followed by Toby Vermette with 19 points, Alex Hanna with 11 points, and Braedyn Dietz with 10 points. Others scoring were Nick Bertrand with four points and Blake Rivers with two.

FBMM was lead bye Zedynn Poirier with 20 points and six rebounds, and Sage Sauve with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Others scoring were Ethan LaVarre with five points Jeb Shea with three and Garrett Osborn with two. The score was 41 to 39 after 3 quarters.

Current Standings: Chateaugay 4-0, Citizen Advocates, St. John Bosco, and Maranatha all 3-1, Bangor and, FBMM both 1-3, and Ogdensburg and Smitty’s both 0-3.
