State Golf Courses Ordered To Shut Down
By an Executive Order issued by Governor Andrew Cuomo today all golf courses in New York State have been added to the list of nonessential businesses and were directed to close immediately. The order reversed a stance from two days ago when golf courses were allowed to open.
Many golfers in the Ogdensburg area took advantage of some beautiful April weather to get out and play at the St. Lawrence State Park this week.
"We had some nice days and it was good that some people were able to get out and play. The course is in nice shape. Much drier than it has been in recent seasons and it is just too bad. But we are going through a crazy times and everyone has to do what is best," said St. Lawrence State Park staff member Mel Fechette.
"Now we just wait and see when we can open."
