SUNY Canton Falls To Delhi In Men's Basketball
Delhi, NY – Quran DuBois scored a game-high 16 points and Andrew Fitch added his fourth double-double of the season but the SUNY Canton men’s basketball team fell 58-54 at SUNY Delhi in non-league action on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Broncos were all over the Roos early jumping out to an 18-3 lead less than five minutes in.The hosts extended their lead to as many as 15 but Canton used a 9-0 run to get within four (27-23) with 1:59 left in the opening half. Delhi led 30-25 at intermission.The Roos tied the game at 30 apiece early in the second half following a DuBois three-pointer.Delhi extended the lead to eight midway through the second stanza and led by as many as 10 with 6:37 to play.Canton cut the lead all the way down to two with 10 seconds remaining but Joseph Werner was unable to hit on the free throw to finish the old-fashioned three-point play.After a pair of missed free throws from the Broncos Canton had a chance to tie or take the lead but was unable to get a shot off before turning it over.The Broncos then hit a pair of the charity stripe to seal the win.DuBois led all players with 16 points and added five rebounds and four steals. Fitch totaled 13 points, 13 rebounds and seven blocks. Juztin Chambers-Phillips chipped in eight points and six rebounds. Werner tallied seven points and eight boards, while Danny Santana recorded seven points and six rebounds.Payton Dean led Delhi with 10 points and 14 rebounds, while Justin Daoud (11) and Jordan Fragale (10) also reached double figures.

WATKIN SCORES 24 IN WOMEN'S LOSS
Autumn Watkins tallied career-highs of 24 points and six steals but a second half comeback came up just short as the SUNY Canton women’s basketball team fell 65-59 to SUNY Delhi in non-league action on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
SUNY Delhi jumped out to a 14-5 lead after the opening quarter and took a 41-28 lead into intermission. The Broncos shot 8-for-12 (67 percent) from three-point range and 54 percent from the field in the opening half.Samiaya Salley posted 17 first-half points, while Salley, Kiera Holland and Katelyn Lewis combined to go 7-for-9 on treys. Watkins paced Canton with 12 first-half points, while Autumn Kunes added eight as each player buried a pair of threes.The Roos outscored the Broncos 18-8 in the third quarter and trimmed the deficit to just one at 47-46 before a Delhi layup just before the third quarter buzzer.The hosts used a 13-4 run to start the fourth quarter as they extended the lead to 12. Canton was able to cut the deficit to six following a Shannyn St. Andrews basket with 10 seconds remaining but the comeback came up short.Watkins led all players with 24 points and six steals while adding five rebounds. Kunes chipped in 15 points, five rebounds and four steals and Joie Culkin tallied her fourth double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds.Salley paced the Broncos with 21 points but was held to just four points after intermission. Lewis (12) and Holland (11) also scored in double figures.
