Third Period Burst Carries N-N To D2 Finals
NORFOLK - A four goal third period powered Norwood-Norfolk to a 5-2 victory at home over St. Lawrence Central in a Section 10 Division II Hockey semi-final game on Thursday in the only sectional event played. The defending champion and top-seeded Icemen advanced to championship game at the Clarkson Cheel center against the winner tonight's semi-final game at OFA with Salmon River.
The Class B Girls and Boys Championship games between OFA and Canton which were postponed on Thursday will be played on Saturday night at SUNY Potsdam at 6 and 7:45 p.m.
Cade VanBuren and Jayden Grant each scored a goal with an assist in the third period for N-N where Bobby Voss scored his second goal of the game and Joey Greene also connected.
John McCall passed out two assists and Reed Gravlin also supplied an assist for the offensive support of Thomas Cafarella's 24 saves.
Jarret St. Hilaire scored in the first and second period to give St. Lawrence Central a 2-1 lead. Noah Adams, Kade Hayes and Brendan Phippen all passed out assists and Torran Robertson made 34 saves for the Larries.
