VanHouse Starts Strong: Second Round Postponed

Defending champion Jake VanHouse opened the defense of his 2019 title with authority in the first day of the 2020 Club Championship at the St. Lawrence State Park on Saturday. VanHouse birdied the 18th hole to shoot a one-under 34 on the back none to finish with an even par round of 70 and a five stroke lead over many time Club Champion Chuck Ladouceur at 75.

The 70 was the best round ever for VanHouse where starred for Ogdensburg Free Academy as a Section 10 Champion, VanHouse is looking to add a repeat Club Championship to a Club Championship at the St. Lawrence University Golf and Country Club earlier this summer.

The second round of the tournament was rained out on Sunday and will be replayed on Sunday, Sept. 20.

Kris Berg rounded the final three-some for today's second round with a 76.

The tee-off times for the five groups in today's final round will begin at 9 a.m.

Larry Morley at 78, Nick Cobb at 81 and Andrew Testani at 82 round out the top six heading into today's play which will be divided into flights.
