Lisbon Duo Excel At Bass Club Scholarship Tournament
The FLW/The Bass Federation Good Ole Boys Junior Bassmasters Club recently held a tournament where the top anglers competed for for college scholarship award. On Aug. 3, the G.O.B. Club’s top six anglers of 2019 battled for the opportunity to reach the playoffs in their quest to win a Scholarship Award. Last year’s Scholarship dollars totaled over $2,000. Each year, the club takes the top three anglers in our SAF High School Division and top three anglers in our Junior Division and pit them against each other in a winner take all event. This year, the GOB crowned Derek Carter who will now await the winner of 2020. Once we achieve the 2020 winner he/she will compete against Derek for the top Scholarship Award to the college of their choice. "I would really be amiss if I didn’t individually thank our Boat Captains Brett Milliken, Jason Bell and Harry Stewart, for stepping up to the plate and offering their time & boat on the water allowing our young anglers the opportunity to compete," said a GOB club spokesperson. Our 2019 top six anglers that competed against each other launched from the Onondaga Yacht Club Marina are (alphabetically); Allison Bell, Connor Bell, Derek Carter, Eric Newman, Carter Pinkley and Kyle Pinkley. Each angler launched at 7 am in the morning – returned at 11 a.m for the 1st weigh-in, had a quick lunch & refreshments, then returned back to the water at 11:30 a.m. - culminating the day with a second weigh-in that was conducted at 3 p.m...
